CycleTimer2 is a free application designed for use on iPads and iPhones, primarily serving spin class instructors. It provides a versatile interface for managing playlists, tracks, and custom exercise drills, which can be easily read from a stationary bike when the device is positioned on the stereo stack.
The app features a prominent countdown timer that displays the remaining time for each track, descending from the track’s maximum duration to zero. On an iPad, CycleTimer2 operates in landscape orientation, while on an iPhone, it is optimized for portrait orientation.
CycleTimer2 integrates with the device’s music library to display available playlists. Selecting a playlist reveals its constituent tracks, each marked with a blue time indicator showing the remaining minutes and seconds within the playlist as the track progresses. When a track is selected, the app provides access to the music player controls.
Located below the countdown timer is an expansive area dedicated to creating, editing, and saving exercise drill notes. These notes can be easily copied and pasted into other tracks’ drill notes using standard iOS touch editing gestures.
